Middle School English
I came to VCA in 2014 as the Middle School English teacher. I also coordinate English curriculum and expectations for the upper grades. I have taught Homeroom and Drama as well, which has been an amazing experience.. I became involved in VCA when my children enrolled in the middle of a school year due to a poor educational experience at a public school. VCA was welcoming and gave them the chance to gain an education from a Christian worldview from teachers who really cared for them. I am a licensed social worker.
I was employed by the Department of Health and Welfare for over 25 years where I worked with children and families. I have a B.A. in social work and a teaching certification from the American Board for Teaching Excellence. Over the course of the next two years, I will complete my Idaho State Board of Education requirements for a teaching license.
I was raised in the Nazarene church and accepted Jesus as my savior as a young child. During college at NNU, I reaffirmed my faith. As life has brought more challenges and joy, I am ever growing in my relationship with God. My oldest son, Wil, is beginning college at NNU this year. He is majoring as a Youth Pastor. My daughter, Karlee, is beginning her senior year at Renaissance High School. She is excited to be a senior!!! My youngest son, Spencer, is beginning his freshman year at Renaissance High School. He is not as excited as his sister. LoL!
