New: Learning Resource Coordinator
Vineyard Christian Academy is thrilled to announce the addition of a Learning Resource Coordinator, thanks in part to a grant from the Harry Morrison Foundation Grant. At VCA, it is our desire that all students are provided the opportunity to have academic success. For the non-traditional learner, this can present many challenges. With the assistance of the Learning Support Coordinator, teachers, students, and parents will be given the support necessary to meet the needs of all enrolled learners.
The Learning Resource Coordinator (LRC) will assist in developing a learning environment conducive to meeting the needs of all enrolled students including those who may require academic support. The LSC will work closely with administration, teachers, students, and parents in order to provide sound curriculum, instructional methods (at home and in the classroom), informal assessments, and faculty/parent training focused on learning styles and differentiation.
Charlotte Hawkins - Learning Resource Coordinator
My husband and I reside in the foothills above Eagle. We moved here from California last summer and are enjoying life in Idaho and experiencing the beautiful surroundings and actual ‘seasons’. We are parents to four young-adult children, two who are still in California, one in Seattle, and one who lives with us. When preparing for our move to Idaho, I stumbled upon the school website. After contacting Mrs. Anderson, I was so impressed and moved by her sincere passion for Vineyard Christian Academy and her plans to lead the school towards accreditation. All the pieces came together and I believe that God has placed me here. I was raised in a loving Christian home and committed my life to Christ at a young age. While my walk of faith has been a journey, I have held fast to God’s Word. I believe that my walk is constantly in progress as I continue to grow in my faith and his plan for my life.
I have over 30 years of teaching experience including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades, all in private Christian schools. I have served in leadership roles as an elementary vice-principal and as a resource program coordinator. I hold a state teaching credential and have earned two degrees, a B.A. in liberal studies and a M.Ed in curriculum and instruction. I am returning to my second year at VCA. Last year I taught 2nd grade, and this year I will be the Learning Resource Coordinator, providing support for students, teachers, and parents. I believe that each child is unique, a continual work in progress, and consider it an honor and privilege to be able to partner with parents in helping their children grow and develop.
